Regular Season Recap:
Oudin's Bloodhounds started the season setting a torrid pace, but by week 3 had slipped to second place, and spent weeks 5 and 6 in third place. By week 9 Oudin had retaken the top spot and would only relinquish it for two brief weeks to Pulpman the rest of the way. In fact Oudin held the top spot in the standings in 9 of the 17 weeks. The numbers might appear to be dominant, but in fact Pulpman was never far behind. After a disastrous opening week he was in first place 4 weeks later, leapfrogging over multiple opponents in the standings on several different weeks. This once draft-and-watch manager has indeed morphed into a seriously-skilled manager. As the Pulpster (aka The Silent Storm) would later say the cream soon rose to the top as these two league veterans soon made the chase for the regular season championship a two-man race. In fact after rookie Evan's early season run subsided and he stumbled from first to fourth place, it was Oudin or Pulpman at the top the rest of the way. Pulp averaged 12,000+ points a week during a 4-week span (13-16) but would lose ground, and the top spot to Oudin. The Bloodhounds finished the season with 6 straight weeks of 10K or more, including scoring the most points of the week the final 3 weeks averaging more than 15,000 points per week - including the all-time league mark in the final week of 17,452. And it would take all of that to hold on to the regular season title as Pulpman doggedly pursued at close range.
But there was another race going on as well. A three-man race was raging for the third and final playoff spot between Evan, the Africans, and the Dark Knight. And while the race for first wasn't decided until the final week of the season, the race for the final playoff spot wouldn't be decided until the final minute of the final game with a 36 yard reception followed by a subsequent 4 yrd TD catch, and some garbage points out of the backfield - all in the closing minutes - providing the final margin of victory for the Africans.
Kudos goes out to rookie noob Brock Cole (Dark Knight) for catching on quickly and making a late run coming within 1100 points of a playoff spot before collapsing under the weight of the Tebow implosion.
And how about a special shout out kudos to Brandon McInturff (Africans/bugman). He made 83 roster moves this year. That's like 4.9 roster changes per week! That's like changing out half his roster every week. That's how you manage to produce more points than an opponent who, at face value, always appeared to have a "better" roster. Nice job of scratching his way into the playoffs...
Oh, and Evan. Nice draft. Maybe you'll actually "play" the game better next year...
Just another typical season for the GridIron Gurus Fantasy Football League. Only one truly inactive manager that packed it in early. And the active 5 managers all alive for a shot at the playoffs through the final week. Highly competitive despite half the league being rookies. But by the end of the regular season all looked fairly normal with the three league veterans all going to the playoffs, and the three rookies all left wondering and crying in their beers, comparing all the should of's, could of's, and what if's that made them playoff spectators. So, now, the real season begins.....

New Playoff Scoring Module
For the playoffs a new simplified scoring module has been implemented. This will make keeping up with your scores and your opponent's scores much easier. Managers have nine (9) supplemental playoff picks. There is a maximum limit of four (4) adds and/or supplemental draft picks per manager per round. As always 'drops' are only allowed at the beginning of and prior to each supplemental draft round. Scoring is position specific unless otherwise noted. Managers are highly encouraged to post their own scores through the Yahoo message board within 48 hours after the last game. Forty eight hours after the end of the final game of the round,  posted scores are considered final. Challenges made by opposing managers to another managers' score, within 48 hours of the score posting, and before the first pick of any next draft, that are upheld, are corrected by the commissioner. The commisioner monitors all scores and will post scores for other managers that choose, or fail, to post their own, with no review or appeal options for the un-posting manager.
The Kicker and Team Defense roster spots may not be dropped. By drafting or adding these volatile position(s) you assume their full risk-vs-reward potential as long as they win and remain on your roster. The "Kicker" position is a roster specific position, not a player specific position. ALL kicks by that Kicker's team count toward your totals. A more accurate draft or add claim would read "place kickers - ATL." You of course retain the option of not initially drafting, or ever adding any roster spot, including either or both of these. For more information see the main page (click here.)

Review:
On the verge. That's the way the Bloodhounds must be feeling. Despite a stellar season by the Pulpman which carried over into a second round lead in the playoffs, Oudin's war dogs roared back out in front this week. The lead is encouraging, maybe even a little comforting, but by no means beyond reach.  Still, Oudin is poised to do something he has yet to do in this league, win the regular season and playoffs in the same year. Not to mention reclaim the top spot in the Manager Championship Series Points total. BUT - as usual - it's going to come down to the final week, the final game, and perhaps, yet again, the final minutes, or even the final drive. What else is new...

Champion Declared: Oudin wins Regular Season Champuonship and follows it with an overall playoff Seasonal Championship. In the process the Bloodhounds reclaim the Manager Championship Points Series lead, and wins the Drew Brees pick, er, I mean the first darft pick in next years draft. Feels good to be back on top. And being the front running dawg of this pack - now that's a real honor. One that has no price tag....
